The Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) announced it has awarded a contract for parts fulfillment supporting the MK99 fire control system to RTX. The contract is valued at $219.9 million and will run through December 2027. The award is a firm-fixed ceiling-priced delivery order under a previously awarded performance-based logistics (PBL) contract, with work primarily performed in Andover, Massachusetts (95%), and Chesapeake, Virginia (5%). This sole-source requirement was set aside under authority 10 U.S. Code 3204 (a)(1).

Work to be Completed Under MK99 Fire Control System Contract

The newly awarded contract covers the fulfillment of 1,719 requirements for 62 distinct parts used on the MK99 fire control system, as well as components within the Army Navy Joint Electronics Type Designation Systems Water/Surface Ship, Radar, Surveillance and Control Transmitter Group. These systems are critical for naval radar and surveillance operations aboard surface ships.

This delivery order (N00383-25-F-NE02) is issued under the broader MK-99 Performance Based Logistics (PBL) 5-Year Base Contract, which spans from November 28, 2024, to November 27, 2029. The PBL approach is designed to improve system readiness and reduce total ownership costs by incentivizing contractors to meet specific performance outcomes rather than simply supplying parts or services.

According to NAVSUP WSS, annual working capital funds from the Navy totaling $164.9 million will be obligated at the time of award as an undefinitized contract action. An additional $55 million is committed for the remainder of the performance period.

The MK99 fire control system plays a central role in shipboard air defense by managing radar tracking and missile guidance. The Army Navy Joint Electronics Type Designation Systems referenced in this contract provide standardized nomenclature and technical specifications for electronic equipment used across multiple platforms.

This order follows previous significant awards under the same PBL contract vehicle, including a $185.8 million order (MK-99 PBL NRD ORDER #1) and a $49.2 million order (MK-99 PBL POP 1) for related logistics support.

Additional Awardee Details
