PVP Advanced EO Systems Wins Up to $250 Million Army Counter-Drone Contract

PVP Advanced EO Systems Inc. of Lake Forest, California, won a U.S. Army contract worth up to $250 million for commercial counter-unmanned aerial system and counter-small-unmanned aerial system capabilities. The firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award gives the Army a means to place orders for counter-drone capabilities as requirements arise. Army Contracting Command at Detroit Arsenal, Michigan, made the award, which has an estimated completion date of Sept. 27, 2029.

Commercial Counter-UAS Contract Details

PVP will provide commercial counter-drone capabilities under orders placed against the contract. The Army will determine each order’s work location and funding when it places that order. The award notice does not identify a PVP product or assign a quantity of systems to the contract.

In its announcement of the broader group of counter-UAS awards, the Army described technologies spanning detection, tracking and defeat. Across the group—not specifically PVP’s contract—the capabilities range from optical scopes and long-range tracking cameras to compact radars and robotic weapon stations. The Army said the marketplace will require open architectures to make commercial systems easier to integrate.

Domestic Shield and C-UAS Marketplace Background

The Army said the awards support Domestic Shield, the Joint Interagency Task Force 401 C-UAS Marketplace and other counter-drone requirements. The marketplace is a multi-vendor approach intended to speed access to commercial capabilities rather than procure a single standardized system. Separately, the Army’s FY2027 research and development budget materials describe a broader shift from rapidly acquired interim counter-small-UAS capabilities toward multiple formal acquisition programs covering platforms, sensors, effectors and dismounted systems.

Award and Contractor Background

The Army awarded PVP’s contract on Sept. 28, 2026, after soliciting bids online and receiving 50. It is among the latest awards in a series supporting Domestic Shield: in July 2026, the Army announced a separate contract for CACI with a $500 million ceiling to expand counter-UAS capabilities.

PVP also has federal work involving imaging and surveillance equipment. A Naval Sea Systems Command Nighthawk cameras contract has a potential value of about $4.1 million and a potential performance end date of Oct. 1, 2026. A separate Federal Aviation Administration tower-equipment repair order has a potential value of about $2.6 million and a potential performance end date of Aug. 31, 2026.
