Petro Marine Services Inc. of Seward, Alaska, has received a Defense Logistics Agency Energy contract with a minimum value of $12 million to supply FS1 burner fuel to the Coast Guard and federal civilian agencies. The fixed-price contract includes economic-price adjustments and has a performance completion date of March 31, 2031. Although the award notice calls the product “FS1 fuel oil burners,” DLA’s commodity documentation identifies FS1 as No. 1 burner fuel oil, a petroleum product rather than burner equipment.

FS1 Burner Fuel Contract Details

Petro Marine will supply FS1 fuel oil for DLA Energy customers under the five-year contract. DLA’s Commodities Handbook identifies FS1 as Fuel Oil, Burner, Grade No. 1, and lists it against the ASTM D396 fuel-oil specification.

The handbook includes bulk and drum stock listings for FS1. It also distinguishes FS1 from FL1, a low-sulfur No. 1 burner fuel listed for an Alaska fuel program. The award notice identifies the government customers but does not establish delivery quantities or locations, so the handbook’s catalog listings should not be read as delivery requirements for this contract.

Award and Contractor Background

DLA Energy received 11 responses in the competitive acquisition. The award uses economic-price adjustment provisions for fuel supplied over its performance period. The supplied award information identifies no earlier contract tied to this FS1 requirement.

This award was disclosed by the DoW in its daily press release. Additional contract details will be available on HigherGov in approximately 90 days under SPE60526D1004 after the contract is formally disclosed by the government.
