Oshkosh Defense Awarded $19.5M Army JLTV Wheel Assembly Contract

The Defense Logistics Agency announced it has awarded a three-year, estimated $19.5 million contract for Joint Light Tactical Vehicle pneumatic wheel assemblies to Oshkosh Defense. The firm-fixed-price requirements contract calls for deliveries to government destinations and was competed without a set-aside.

Joint Light Tactical Vehicle Wheel Assembly Contract Details

The award follows DLA Land Warren’s Wheel and Tire Assembly solicitation, issued under solicitation SPRDL1-25-R-0172. DLA received two responses through the full-and-open competition. The resulting contract, SPRDL1-26-D-0053, has no option periods and an ordering period ending Aug. 13, 2029.

Under the contract, Oshkosh will supply wheel and tire assemblies identified by National Stock Number 2530-01-592-6682 and government part number 12577513. The solicitation document estimated demand at up to 3,825 assemblies over the three-year period. Because it is a requirements contract, orders can be placed as the Army’s actual replenishment needs arise, subject to the contract’s terms.

The assemblies support the Army’s Joint Light Tactical Vehicle fleet. JLTV was developed to provide greater protection and off-road mobility than the Humvee while remaining lighter and more deployable than heavier mine-resistant vehicles. Recurring access to replacement wheel assemblies supports fleet readiness as JLTV activity increasingly includes sustainment, modification and modernization alongside new-vehicle production.

The contract requires Military Level A packaging and delivery FOB destination. DLA’s special packaging instruction establishes handling, preservation, palletization and safety requirements intended to prevent damage to tires, wheel components, beads and valves during storage and transportation. DLA Weapons Support in Warren, Michigan, is the contracting activity.

Oshkosh Defense’s Army Component Work

Oshkosh Defense, based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, is the original production contractor for the JLTV and remains a supplier of vehicles and replacement components to the Army. The company has also received other DLA awards for tactical-vehicle wheels, engines and powertrain equipment.

Recent related work includes a 537-unit order for the same wheel-and-tire assembly and a 378-unit order for the same NSN and part number. Those orders, together with the new long-term requirements award, reflect DLA’s continuing procurement of replacement mobility components to support the Army’s fielded tactical-vehicle fleet.

This award was disclosed by the DoW in its daily press release. Additional contract details will be available on HigherGov in approximately 90 days under SPRDL126D0053 after the contract is formally disclosed by the government.
