The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced it has awarded a contract for cultural resources services to New South Associates worth up to $10 million over five years. The firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract covers work in the continental United States and overseas and was set aside for women-owned small businesses.

Work to be Completed Under the Cultural Resources Services Contract

The contract will provide multidisciplinary cultural resources support to the USACE Mobile District’s civil works and military programs and its customers.

New South Associates will conduct terrestrial and marine archaeological investigations, historic architectural work, architectural history studies, and historic building documentation. The resulting technical data will support USACE Mobile decision-makers as they carry out the district’s engineering and environmental responsibilities.

The work also includes preparing cultural landscape assessments, Historic Property Management Plans, and Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plans. These services may support compliance and planning activities under federal preservation requirements, including the National Historic Preservation Act.

Additional tasks may include museum support, artifact conservation, curation assessments and inventories. The contractor may also prepare summaries, inventories, and other documentation associated with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act and the Archaeological Resources Protection Act, as well as assist with agreement documents.

The scope further covers Geographic Information System and Global Positioning System services, historic studies, equipment, supplies, and specialized personnel needed to perform cultural resources assignments. Specific work locations, requirements, and funding will be established through individual task orders, with overall contract completion estimated for August 13, 2031.
