The U.S. Army announced it has awarded M1 Support Services a contract to provide initial-entry rotary-wing pilot training, with a cumulative ceiling of $10 billion through Aug. 12, 2052. The firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract will be performed at Fort Rucker, Alabama.
Work to be Completed Under the Initial-Entry Rotary-Wing Training Contract
Under contract W9124P-26-D-A004, M1 Support Services will train between 800 and 1,500 Army pilots annually. The program will support the Army’s initial-entry rotary-wing training requirements using commercially available services and equipment.
The contractor will provide a contractor-owned, contractor-operated training solution. This approach places responsibility on M1 Support Services to supply and operate the commercial resources needed to deliver the required pilot instruction.
The training will take place at Fort Rucker, Alabama, the Army installation that serves as a central location for aviation training. The contract’s long performance period is intended to provide continuing capacity for the Army’s rotary-wing pilot training mission.
Individual requirements and funding will be established through task orders issued under the IDIQ contract. The announced $10 billion amount represents the contract’s combined cumulative face value rather than a guaranteed level of spending.
Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the procuring contracting activity.
M1 Support Services’ Aviation Maintenance Experience
M1 Support Services is based in the Fort Worth-area community of Westlake, Texas, while the government’s award notice identifies the recipient as M1 Support Services L.P. of Denton, Texas. The company has received other federal contracts involving military aircraft maintenance, training support and aviation operations.
Its related Army work includes a Fort Novosel aviation maintenance contract supporting Army and Air Force operations at the installation formerly known as Fort Rucker. Other awards include aircraft maintenance and support at Nellis Air Force Base and training-aircraft maintenance at Sheppard Air Force Base.
This award was disclosed by the DoW in its daily press release. Additional contract details will be available on HigherGov once disclosed by the government in approximately 90 days under W9124P26DA004 after the contract is formally disclosed by the government.
