Lyme Computer Systems of Lebanon, New Hampshire, has won a Navy contract worth up to $27.3 million to supply brand-name Siemens RUGGEDCOM industrial-grade networking hardware, equipment and components. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division will place orders for the commercial products as needed under the small-business set-aside contract. Work will be performed in Lebanon and is expected to be completed by October 2033.
Siemens RUGGEDCOM Hardware Details
Lyme will supply Siemens RUGGEDCOM network switching equipment for the warfare center’s requirements. The solicitation describes a single-award, fixed-price arrangement under which the Navy can order hardware over time, rather than purchase the full contract value at award.
The procurement covers commercial, industrial-grade networking hardware and associated equipment and components. The Navy restricted competition to authorized Siemens RUGGEDCOM resellers that are small businesses, requiring the specified brand rather than an alternative supplier’s products. The award notice identifies two offers received.
The Philadelphia division’s broader work includes engineering and lifecycle support for surface-ship machinery controls and mission-critical networks, according to its description of its work. The public award notice describes a hardware supply contract; it does not assign this award to particular ships or installations.
Award and Contractor Background
Lyme held the earlier RUGGEDCOM supply contract identified in the solicitation as the requirement this award follows. Navy 2025 planning materials and a 2026 industry presentation also identified Lyme’s existing RUGGEDCOM contract when discussing the planned follow-on. Both placed the anticipated award in a $7.5 million-to-$50 million range; the resulting $27.3 million ceiling falls within that planning range.
Orders under Lyme’s earlier contract illustrate the types of purchases made through that supply channel. A $1.8 million order for MX5000RE-CORE-1 equipment had a potential performance end date in January 2024. Later orders included $1.2 million in material to support LPD-17 network equipment, with a potential performance end date in July 2026, and $983,000 in material to support LPD-33 network equipment, also ending in July 2026. Those orders provide examples of the prior contract’s scope, rather than ship assignments for the new award.
This award was disclosed by the DoW in its daily press release. Additional contract details will be available on HigherGov in approximately 90 days under N6449827D0002 after the contract is formally disclosed by the government.
