Lockheed Martin Awarded $15.9M Navy TRIDENT II Missile Production Support Contract

The U.S. Navy’s Strategic Systems Programs announced it has awarded Lockheed Martin a $15.9 million contract for advance support of the TRIDENT II (D5) missile production schedule, with completion expected by Sept. 30, 2031. The fixed-price-incentive-fee, unpriced letter contract will be performed at sites across the United States and was awarded on a sole-source basis.
Work to be Completed Under the TRIDENT II (D5) Missile Production Support Contract
Under contract N0003026C0100, Lockheed Martin will obtain long-lead materials and provide the labor, planning and scheduling needed to support TRIDENT II (D5) missile production. Long-lead materials are generally ordered ahead of full production because of the time required to manufacture, inspect and deliver them.
The advance procurement effort is intended to position the program to meet its future production schedule by addressing material and workforce requirements before the main production phase. The award notice does not specify missile quantities or identify the individual components to be acquired.
Magna, Utah, and Camden, Arkansas, will each account for 29% of the work. Another 14% will be performed in Titusville, Florida, while Elkton, Maryland, will account for 7%.
Miamisburg, Ohio, and Joplin, Missouri, will each perform 6% of the work. Biddeford, Maine, and Inglewood, California, will each account for 3%, with the remaining 3% distributed among several locations contributing less than 1% apiece.
The Navy awarded the contract without competition under the statutory exception allowing other than full and open competition when only one responsible source can meet the requirement. Strategic Systems Programs in Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
Lockheed Martin’s TRIDENT Program Work
Lockheed Martin is headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, while the award notice identifies its Titusville, Florida, operation as the recipient. The company has received multiple prior Strategic Systems Programs contracts involving TRIDENT II production, engineering and deployed-system support.
Related awards include a TRIDENT production and deployed systems support contract covering long-lead materials and production support, as well as a TRIDENT production and engineering support contract. Lockheed Martin also performed earlier TRIDENT production and deployed-system work under contract N0003023C0100 and contract N0003022C0100.
This award was disclosed by the DoW in its daily press release. Additional contract details will be available on HigherGov once disclosed by the government in approximately 90 days under N0003026C0100 after the contract is formally disclosed by the government.
