Katmai Global Solutions of Anchorage, Alaska, has won a Defense Logistics Agency Energy contract worth up to $11.99 million to operate government-owned fuel facilities at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California. The 8(a) set-aside award covers aircraft and ground fuel services, storage and distribution for the Air Force. Performance is expected to be completed by Oct. 31, 2030.

Vandenberg Fuel Services Details

Katmai will operate the base’s government-owned fuel infrastructure rather than simply deliver fuel. The Vandenberg fuel-services award covers bulk storage, retail service-station support, aircraft fueling services and broader fuels management. The work includes safe handling, quality control and accounting for government-owned petroleum products.

Those services support day-to-day aircraft and ground operations at a base with a rising operational tempo. Space Launch Delta 30 reported that Vandenberg supported 77 space launches, missile tests and aeronautical operations in 2025. That figure describes the base’s activity, not a projected fuel volume under Katmai’s contract.

Award and Contractor Background

DLA Energy awarded the contract on Sept. 28, 2026, after a competition that drew two responses. The agency is responsible for the acquisition, while the Air Force is the service that will use the fuel support.

This award was disclosed by the DoW in its daily press release. Additional contract details will be available on HigherGov in approximately 90 days under SPE60326C5016 after the contract is formally disclosed by the government.
