Intercomp of Medina, Minnesota, has received a delivery order worth nearly $10 million from the Air Force for Deployed Automated Cargo Measuring Systems (DACMS). The systems support cargo processing by measuring vehicles and equipment for airlift. The 763d Enterprise Sourcing Squadron at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, made the sole-source award for DACMS procurement within and outside the continental United States.

Deployed Automated Cargo Measuring Systems Details

The Air Force’s DACMS statement of work describes portable systems that weigh vehicles while moving or stationary and use lasers to measure their length, width and height. Each system in that documented requirement has four weighing platforms rated for at least 40,000 pounds per axle. The equipment is designed to weigh and profile multi-axle vehicles and towed equipment simultaneously, with specified measurement accuracy of plus or minus 1% at a 95% confidence interval.

The specification also calls for a rugged device that combines readings from scales and lasers with RFID and barcode data to create equipment records, including center-of-balance measurements. The systems operate independently of Air Force networks and military load-planning systems. Intercomp’s order announcement identifies DACMS procurement; the separately published 27-system requirement supplies these technical details but does not establish the number of units covered by this order.

For that 27-system requirement, the Air Force sought initial assembly, accuracy testing, calibration certification, manuals and on-site training in system operation and maintenance. Its proposed distribution was 19 systems in the continental United States and eight across Pacific, Central, European and African command areas, with delivery within 365 days of an award. Air Mobility Command has described DACMS as a way for aerial-port personnel to collect the dimensions, weights and center-of-balance data used in airlift planning.

Award and Contractor Background

The new delivery order was awarded without competition. In its DACMS sources-sought notice, the Air Force identified Intercomp as the incumbent on a separate, approximately $9.98 million contract awarded in September 2025 for more than 65 systems. That acquisition included initial calibration, training and a one-year warranty for systems destined for U.S. and overseas air bases.

The 2026 market research sought sources for 27 additional systems for the Air Force Logistics Enterprise, including Air Mobility Command’s A4T1 program. Unlike Intercomp’s newly announced sole-source delivery order, the earlier contract was awarded through a small-business set-aside.

This award was disclosed by the DoW in its daily press release. Additional contract details will be available on HigherGov in approximately 90 days under FA445226F0049 after the contract is formally disclosed by the government.
