General Dynamics Wins Up to $99 Million Army Commercial Technology Contract

General Dynamics Mission Systems Inc. of Taunton, Massachusetts, has won an Army contract worth up to $99 million for commercial technology offerings. Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, awarded the firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract. The Army expects work under the contract to be completed by Sept. 30, 2031.

Commercial Technology Contract Details

General Dynamics Mission Systems will provide commercial technology through orders placed under the contract. The award notice describes the scope broadly and does not identify a particular product, system or Army customer.

Individual orders will establish work locations and funding. The $99 million figure is the contract’s potential value, rather than an amount committed to specific deliveries at the time of award.

Award and Contractor Background

The Army solicited bids online and received nine. General Dynamics has previously held an Army contract involving commercial technology: a Government Accountability Office decision says the company received the fifth Common Hardware Systems contract in August 2018. The Army describes Common Hardware Systems as a program for acquiring and sustaining commercial and nondevelopmental information technology for tactical and operational use. The new award notice does not identify that program as the subject of this contract.
