GE Wins $11 Million DLA Order for F118 Engine Fan Vanes

General Electric Co. has received a sole-source delivery order worth up to $10.8 million from Defense Logistics Agency Weapons Support for a one-time purchase of fan vanes for F118 aircraft gas turbine engines used by the Air Force. The firm-fixed-price order was issued under a five-year basic ordering agreement and has a delivery-order end date of Aug. 31, 2031. DLA Weapons Support in Oklahoma City is the contracting activity.

F118 Fan Vane Order Details

GE will supply the engine component identified in the award listing as an F118 fan vane. The notice describes a one-time purchase of parts rather than an engine-maintenance or repair effort.

The F118 engine family serves more than one Air Force aircraft. The Air Force’s B-2 Spirit fact sheet lists four F118-GE-100 engines per bomber, while a Tinker Air Force Base technical-order index associates F118 variants with both the B-2 and U-2S. The delivery order does not identify which aircraft will receive the purchased parts.

Award and Contractor Background

DLA made the award as a sole-source acquisition. A separate GE order for 100 fan components bearing the same national stock number had a potential value of $2.4 million and a performance end date of Oct. 1, 2026. That listing calls the components valves, whereas the new award calls them vanes; the new notice does not give a quantity that would support a per-unit price comparison.

GE also has a documented role in F118 engine sustainment beyond parts purchases. DLA awarded the company an $85 million Pacer Dragon contract in January 2018 for U-2 engine-module maintenance, repair and remanufacturing, along with technical and test support. A later DLA account records a $24.7 million continuation awarded in October 2023 for F118 support at Tinker Air Force Base. That work covers a broader range of engine services than the newly awarded fan-vane purchase.

This award was disclosed by the DoW in its daily press release. Additional contract details will be available on HigherGov in approximately 90 days under SPRTA126F0445 after the contract is formally disclosed by the government.
