Digital Force Technologies Wins $500 Million Army Counter-Drone Contract for Domestic Shield

Digital Force Technologies has received a U.S. Army contract worth up to $500 million to provide commercial counter-unmanned aircraft system capabilities, including defenses against small drones. The firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award supports the Army’s broader counter-drone purchasing effort, including Domestic Shield. Work locations will be set by individual orders, and the contract has an estimated completion date of Sept. 27, 2029.

Counter-UAS Contract Details

Digital Force Technologies will provide counter-drone capabilities as the Army issues orders under the contract. The Army’s announcement identifies the award as one of several vehicles supporting Domestic Shield, a counter-UAS marketplace and other requirements. It does not identify a Digital Force Technologies product or an initial order; the equipment purchased and its deployment locations will depend on subsequent orders.

The marketplace is designed to give the military access to different commercial technologies across the detection-to-defeat chain. The Army cited examples ranging from compact radars and long-range tracking cameras to robotic weapon stations and optical scopes that help soldiers engage drones with standard rifles. It also said the marketplace will use open-architecture standards and maintain competition among vendors. The announcement does not assign those specific products to Digital Force Technologies.

Domestic Shield Background

Domestic Shield is intended to protect U.S. military facilities and assets prioritized for counter-drone coverage. In an August media roundtable, the commander of Joint Interagency Task Force 401 said the effort was adding capabilities at critical-infrastructure sites designated by service secretaries and that Army counter-UAS equipment was already in use at Air Force installations. The Army’s use of multiple contract vehicles allows it to buy different combinations of defenses for those requirements.

Award and Contractor Background

The Army awarded Digital Force Technologies the contract on Sept. 28, 2026, after receiving 50 bids through an internet solicitation. Army Contracting Command at Detroit Arsenal, Michigan, is the contracting activity. The $500 million figure is the contract’s potential ceiling, not an amount committed for equipment at award.

The award follows a July 2026 Domestic Shield contract with CACI that also had a $500 million ceiling. The Army associated that contract with fixed-site and mobile radio-frequency counter-drone capabilities. Digital Force Technologies has also held a separate Air Combat Command contract for an ODIN drone detection system with a potential value of $920,000.

This award was disclosed by the DoW in its daily press release. Additional contract details will be available on HigherGov in approximately 90 days under W912CH26DA084 after the contract is formally disclosed by the government.
