CAE USA Inc. of Arlington, Texas, has received a $14.8 million Air Force contract to support Taiwan’s F-16 Block 20V and Block 70 Mission Training Center program. The foreign military sales award covers contractor logistics support, spares management, travel, data and dislocation-related work. Performance will take place in Taiwan and at Morris Air National Guard Base in Tucson, Arizona, with completion expected by Jan. 30, 2032.

F-16 Mission Training Center Details

CAE will provide logistics support for the mission-training program serving Taiwan’s upgraded Block 20V fighters and new Block 70 fighters. The award identifies spares management and data support as part of that work, alongside travel and dislocation-related services. It is a support contract for the training program, rather than an aircraft-production award.

The work spans Chiayi, Hualien and Taitung in Taiwan, as well as Morris Air National Guard Base in Tucson. Those locations give the contract a presence on both sides of the Pacific for a program covering two F-16 configurations.

Taiwan F-16 Program Background

The training-center support sits alongside two major changes to Taiwan’s F-16 fleet: the upgrade of 142 legacy Block 20 aircraft and the planned acquisition of 66 new Block 70 aircraft. The Block 20 modernization included changes to avionics, aircraft structure and subsystems, flight-control software and training systems. The new award addresses support for mission training associated with both configurations, not the aircraft upgrades or purchases themselves.

CAE has also been supplying Block 70 training devices under a separate Air Force contract. A January 2023 award covered hardware and software development, integration, testing and delivery. A May 2025 modification added training-device hardware and development, bringing that contract’s stated cumulative face value to $66.7 million at the time. The 2026 award covers logistics support rather than that device-development work.

Award and Contractor Background

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center awarded the hybrid firm-fixed-price contract on Oct. 28, 2026, through a sole-source acquisition. The award includes an initial obligation of $2.2 million in foreign military sales funds.

CAE’s related Taiwan training-center work includes a Block 20 contractor logistics support contract valued at up to $13.4 million and scheduled through January 2027. That contract covers logistics support, repair and return, travel and data. CAE also received a Block 20 Mission Training Center contract in 2016 with a potential value of $106.4 million and a listed performance end date in December 2024.

This award was disclosed by the DoW in its daily press release. Additional contract details will be available on HigherGov in approximately 90 days under FA862127CB001 after the contract is formally disclosed by the government.
