The Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support announced it has awarded a contract for the repair of outer wing panels used on the F/A-18 E/F aircraft to Boeing, valued at up to $96.7 million over approximately six years. The delivery order is issued under a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA), with work to be performed in Jacksonville, Florida (90%), and St. Louis, Missouri (10%). This requirement was solicited as a sole-source set-aside.

Work to be Completed Under Outer Wing Panel Repair Contract

The newly awarded delivery order (N00383-25-F-YY2V) tasks Boeing with the repair of outer wing panels for the F/A-18 E/F, a critical component of the U.S. Navy's carrier-based strike fighter fleet. The contract is expected to be completed by December 2030.

This award is issued under the existing S3 Boeing BOA, which began in August 2022 and runs through August 2027. The BOA has supported a range of high-value parts and repairs for Navy aviation assets, including contracts for landing gear kits, mechanical actuators, aileron assemblies, and more.

Other notable awards under this BOA include:

According to the Navy, $47.4 million will be obligated at the time of award. These funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year, ensuring continuity for this long-term maintenance effort.

The contract was awarded as a sole-source requirement under the authority of 10 U.S. Code 3204 (a)(1), with only one company solicited and one offer received. This approach reflects Boeing's unique role as the original equipment manufacturer and primary maintainer of F/A-18 E/F components.

Boeing’s Role in Navy Aviation Sustainment

Boeing, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a longstanding partner to the U.S. Navy for both new aircraft production and sustainment activities. Its facilities in Jacksonville and St. Louis are key hubs for military aircraft maintenance and repair operations.

This latest award further extends Boeing’s involvement in supporting the F/A-18 platform, which remains a mainstay of naval aviation operations worldwide.

This award was disclosed by the DoD in its daily press release. Additional contract details will be available on HigherGov once disclosed by the government in approximately 90 days under N0038325FYY2V after the contract is formally disclosed by the government.
