Bethel Yuut Wins Up to $10 Million for Army Green Service Uniform All-Weather Coats

Bethel Yuut LLC of Anchorage, Alaska, has received a firm-fixed-price, fixed-quantity contract worth up to $10 million to supply men’s Army Green Service Uniform all-weather coats. Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support awarded the contract for Army use after a competition that drew two responses. The 18-month contract has a performance completion date of June 30, 2028. A DLA solicitation for the coat was advertised as a total small-business set-aside.

Army Green Service Uniform All-Weather Coat Details

Bethel Yuut will manufacture and deliver the Heritage Green version of the men’s all-weather coat using water-repellent-treated polyester-cotton poplin. The coat technical data calls for a Type II design, with a gun flap on the right shoulder. Under the revised coat specification, the double-breasted garment has a belt, shoulder and sleeve straps, pass-through pockets and an insulated removable liner.

The technical data also provides for coats made to individual measurements outside the standard size range when ordered. Bethel Yuut must provide a preproduction sample for government testing before full production is authorized. Each finished coat requires an individual barcode tag with a radio-frequency identification inlay.

A DLA presolicitation for the coat anticipated three monthly deliveries beginning 120 days after award, with the initial shipments going to Travis Association for the Blind in Austin, Texas. The notice also called for domestically manufactured coats made from U.S. materials. Its proposed contracting structure differs from the fixed-quantity, 18-month award described in the government announcement.

Army Green Service Uniform Background

The coat is one component of the Army Green Service Uniform, which began fielding in July 2020 for everyday business and office wear. The Army says all soldiers must possess the uniform by October 1, 2027. Its uniform guide says the Army Service Uniform will then become an optional uniform for formal and ceremonial occasions.

Award and Contractor Background

The two-response competition follows other DLA all-weather-coat purchases. In 2023, DLA awarded American Apparel a five-year contract worth up to $82.9 million for men’s uniform all-weather coats after receiving seven responses; the Defense Department later corrected its ordering-period end date to July 19, 2028.

Bethel Yuut has also received DLA all-weather-coat orders, including a $3.7 million order with potential performance through December 2026 and a $1.4 million order with potential performance through July 2026.

This award was disclosed by the DoW in its daily press release. Additional contract details will be available on HigherGov in approximately 90 days under SPE1C126C0026 after the contract is formally disclosed by the government.
