Benaka Inc. of New Brunswick, New Jersey, has received a $16.8 million firm-fixed-price contract to build an F-16 Mission Training Center for the New Jersey Air National Guard’s 177th Fighter Wing in Egg Harbor Township. The small-business set-aside project will provide a facility for simulator-based fighter training at the wing’s installation near Atlantic City International Airport. The U.S. Property and Fiscal Office, New Jersey, awarded the contract, and the government estimates construction will be complete by Jan. 31, 2028.
F-16 Mission Training Center Details
Benaka will provide the labor, materials, equipment and supervision to construct the new center. Air Force project plans describe a roughly 13,500-square-foot building with a high-bay area for a new four-ship F-16 simulator and secure-compartmented construction across much of the facility. The construction solicitation calls for the project to be completed within 425 calendar days after notice to proceed, including inspection and final corrective work.
The project also requires access-control and intrusion-detection systems that connect to security infrastructure already used across the 177th Fighter Wing installation. Under a security-equipment justification, Advantor Systems Corporation will provide and install that equipment, along with design drawings, connections, testing and training needed for an operational system.
F-16 Mission Training Center Background
The 177th Fighter Wing operates F-16C aircraft, and the Air Force describes the four-ship simulator planned for the center as a new mission capability. Air Force project documents put the overall project estimate at $18 million, a project-level figure distinct from Benaka’s construction award. A Defense Department construction report said the facility’s design was complete before the construction award.
Award and Contractor Background
The government received eight bids for the work. Benaka has also undertaken other military construction projects, including a $19.7 million Army Reserve vehicle-maintenance facility project in Virginia and a $23.9 million dormitory repair project at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.
This award was disclosed by the DoW in its daily press release. Additional contract details will be available on HigherGov in approximately 90 days under W50S8F27CA010 after the contract is formally disclosed by the government.
