Allen Control Systems Wins Up to $500 Million Army Counter-Drone Contract

Allen Control Systems of Austin, Texas, has received an Army contract worth up to $500 million to provide commercial counter-unmanned aerial system and counter-small-unmanned aerial system capabilities. The firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award was made Sept. 28, 2026, by Army Contracting Command at Detroit Arsenal. Work locations will be determined under individual orders, and the contract has an estimated completion date of Sept. 27, 2029.

Counter-Drone Contract Details

Allen will provide counter-drone capabilities as the Army places orders under the contract. The award notice does not establish a fixed equipment quantity or deployment location; those details will depend on the orders issued. The $500 million figure is the contract’s maximum potential value, rather than the value of equipment already ordered.

The award is part of a group of commercial counter-UAS contracts that the Army says can support Domestic Shield, the Joint Interagency Task Force 401 C-UAS Marketplace and other requirements. Across that group, the Army described capabilities ranging from detection and tracking equipment to systems that can defeat drones. Its announcement did not assign a particular product, configuration or delivery milestone to Allen’s contract.

Domestic Shield and C-UAS Marketplace Background

The Army is using the JIATF-401 marketplace to identify, evaluate and transition commercial counter-drone systems more quickly. It said the approach is intended to sustain competition among vendors and encourage open-architecture standards. The ten contracts announced in September 2026 have a combined potential ceiling of $4.15 billion, giving the Army multiple sources from which to place future orders.

Domestic Shield already had a related purchasing vehicle: in July 2026, JIATF-401 announced a contract with CACI worth up to $500 million for fixed or mobile radio-frequency detection and non-kinetic drone defeat capabilities. The Army said its first order under that contract covered CACI’s SkyValor solutions. Allen’s award adds another vendor to the broader counter-drone buying effort.

Award and Contractor Background

The Army received 50 bids for the Allen contract. Earlier in 2026, Allen received a separate Army award worth up to $300,000 to acquire its Bullfrog V3 system for experimental use with a 7.62-by-51-millimeter machine gun and government integration work involving a vehicle protection systems base kit. That work provides relevant Army contracting history, but the September award covers the broader supply of commercial counter-drone capabilities through future orders.

This award was disclosed by the DoW in its daily press release. Additional contract details will be available on HigherGov in approximately 90 days under W912CH26DA086 after the contract is formally disclosed by the government.
