Akima Systems Engineering of Herndon, Virginia, has won an Army contract worth up to $49.99 million to provide technical services for next-generation digital infrastructure, cybersecurity and mission-systems sustainment in support of joint mission owners. Army Contracting Command–Detroit Arsenal awarded the firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, which has an estimated completion date of Oct. 18, 2029. The Army will determine work locations and funding as it places individual orders.
Digital Infrastructure and Mission Systems Support Details
Akima will provide technical support across three areas identified in the award notice: digital infrastructure, cybersecurity and sustainment of mission systems. The contract gives the Army a way to order those services for joint mission owners as requirements arise, rather than assigning all work to a single location at award.
The notice does not identify particular networks, systems or facilities covered by the work. Those details, along with the location and funding for each assignment, will be established through individual orders.
Award and Contractor Background
The Army received two bids for the contract. In December 2024, Akima announced a separate U.S. Indo-Pacific Command award to enhance that command’s Common Computing Environment, with a potential five-year value of $55 million. Akima described that work as spanning systems engineering, networks, information protection, cyber defense and application development—areas that overlap with the broad technical scope of the new Army award.
This award was disclosed by the DoW in its daily press release. Additional contract details will be available on HigherGov in approximately 90 days under W912CH27DA020 after the contract is formally disclosed by the government.
