Akiak NS Wins $43 Million DHA Technology Lifecycle Support Bridge Award

Akiak NS LLC of Alexandria, Virginia, has received a $43.3 million firm-fixed-price bridge award from the Defense Health Agency (DHA) to provide technology lifecycle support to its Technology Support Branch. The work covers planning, implementation and ongoing support intended to keep agency technology efficient and secure. Performance will take place in Falls Church, Virginia, over a period of up to 12 months. The award was announced Sept. 11, 2026.

Technology Lifecycle Support Details

Akiak will support seven areas of the branch’s work: the Digital Transformation Center, system lifecycle management, evolutionary architecture and design, the Operations Support Center, service-level management, systems architecture and application support. Together, those areas span decisions about how technology is designed and changed, as well as the day-to-day support needed to keep systems operating.

The bridge covers technology assessments and planning through implementation and continuing support. Its lifecycle focus is to help DHA manage changes to its technology while maintaining service and addressing security and operational risks.

Akiak must also coordinate with contractors supporting the three remaining technology lifecycle support domains and with other contractors working in DHA. That coordination is part of the bridge requirement as the agency divides related support work among multiple providers.

Award and Contractor Background

The award continues a DHA requirement that Akiak has supported under two other contracts. An earlier technology lifecycle support contract had a potential value of $95.5 million and a potential performance end date in December 2025. A subsequent Technology Support Branch support contract had a potential value of $42.5 million and a potential performance end date in September 2026.

DHA said in a July 2025 market notice that it planned to bridge the work while allowing time to procure a competitive follow-on. A Sept. 4, 2026, inspector general management advisory addressed concerns about DHA’s second bridge for technology lifecycle support, placing the new award within an ongoing acquisition transition.

This award was disclosed by the DoW in its daily press release. Additional contract details will be available on HigherGov in approximately 90 days under HT001126FE061 after the contract is formally disclosed by the government.
