The U.S. Air Force announced it has awarded a contract for KC-135 increased capacity latrines to Aircraft Technologies worth $12.3 million over seven years. The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract will be performed in San Antonio, Texas, and was competed with two offers received; no set-aside was listed.

Work to be Completed Under KC-135 Increased Capacity Latrine Contract

The contract calls for the production and delivery of increased capacity latrines and associated spare parts for the U.S. Air Force’s KC-135 fleet. These modifications are intended to enhance the operational readiness and comfort of aircrews during extended missions.

The KC-135 Stratotanker is a military aerial refueling aircraft that has been in service since the late 1950s. As missions have evolved to require longer flight times, the need for improved onboard facilities has become more pressing. The new latrines are expected to address these needs by providing greater capacity and reliability compared to existing systems.

According to the Air Force, work under this contract will be performed at Aircraft Technologies’ facility in San Antonio, Texas. The period of performance extends through September 7, 2031, allowing for ongoing production and support as needed by the fleet.

This award was made following a competitive acquisition process managed by Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Out of two proposals received, Aircraft Technologies was selected based on its ability to meet technical requirements and deliver value to the government.
