Affigent Wins $65 Million Marine Corps Operational Command Post–Light Contract

Affigent has won a $65 million firm-fixed-price Marine Corps contract for Operational Command Post–Light hardware and licenses. The equipment will provide Fleet Marine Forces with modular information technology infrastructure designed to host and rapidly deploy secure services at the tactical edge, including where network connectivity is unreliable. Work will be performed in Herndon, Virginia, and is expected to be completed by March 29, 2027.

Operational Command Post–Light Details

Affigent will provide the hardware and licenses for a scalable, expeditionary command-post architecture. The Marine Corps describes the system as a way to bring enterprise-grade services to deployed forces rather than relying solely on infrastructure at fixed locations.

The architecture is intended to support operations in disconnected, intermittent and limited-connectivity environments. That requirement makes the equipment relevant to command posts that must establish services quickly and continue operating when communications with larger networks are constrained.

Operational Command Post–Light Background

The Navy’s FY2026 Marine Corps procurement budget submission describes the broader Operational Command Post capability as supporting wireless access to NIPRNet and SIPRNet, tactical chat, 5G connections, cyber resilience and commanders’ situational-awareness displays. It says a funding increase supports continued procurement of the light variant alongside a refresh of separate Combat Data Network equipment. The submission identifies $99.7 million for the combined Operational Command Post and Combat Data Network budget element, not for Operational Command Post–Light alone.

The Marine Corps’ Ground Combat Element 2040 planning material identifies operational command posts at echelon, distributed processing and resilient data systems as needs for a force operating across dispersed locations. The Affigent award addresses the deployable infrastructure described in the service’s command-post plans.

Award and Contractor Background

The Marine Corps awarded the contract on September 21, 2026, after a competition that drew three offers. The full $65 million potential value was obligated at award.
