Aerojet Rocketdyne has won a $9.57 million cost-plus-fixed-fee Army contract to modernize and expand hypersonic test infrastructure. The work will take place in Jupiter, Florida, and is expected to be completed by Sept. 28, 2028. Army Contracting Command in Orlando, Florida, awarded the contract.
Hypersonic Test Infrastructure Details
Aerojet Rocketdyne will carry out the infrastructure modernization and expansion in Jupiter. The Army’s award notice does not identify the facility, equipment or individual improvements covered by the work, so the precise changes to the test capability are not yet clear.
The award comes amid broader military investment in hypersonic testing. In December 2025, the Army reported a hypersonic shot testing a new rainfield simulator at its Aerophysics Research Facility, an example of work to assess environmental effects on high-speed flight. The Army has not linked that facility or test to Aerojet Rocketdyne’s Jupiter contract.
Award and Contractor Background
The Army solicited bids online and received one. It obligated the full $9.57 million at award. The public award notice does not establish an incumbent or identify an earlier contract for the Jupiter infrastructure work.
