UIC (Underground Injections Controls) Waters

Investment ID: 020-000000112

Overview

Program Title
UIC (Underground Injections Controls) Waters
Description
The EPA is currently investing in several activities to support Underground Injection Control work. These efforts include systems to support permitting and enforcement work (i.e. iWells, UIC One, R5 UIC e-permitting, Geological Sequestration Data Tool, etc) as well as efforts to collect summary level data to assess program implementation (e.g. UIC Data Application). As the Agency works on developing and improving these tools, it is important that the Office of Water create an umbrella investment to properly manage the resources of these individual activities. Moving these efforts to one investment strategy will increase communication across the various tool development and maintained efforts. The increased awareness will support the Agency in developing a cost-effective approach to continued project development and maintenance. This investment includes the full Systems Life Cycle Management of all the individual related project across the EPA enterprise.
