The Platform investment includes all costs associated with distributed and mainframe databases and middleware systems, DBMS software and tools, labor and outside services. The Platform investment is the foundation of a cohesive IT infrastructure and architecture which promote efficient and effective deployment of public and government services to all datacenters, field sites and airports. The investment's inherent value to the public and enables TSA to more efficiently and effectively carry out its mission of protecting the Nation s transportation system to ensure freedom of movement for people and commerce.
