This investment has already achieved returns in that it allows TRIO s collection and analysis of performance data to proceed efficiently and with accuracy and consistency of approach, as described in the answer to the preceding question. DME activities through 2019 will provide further return. Improvements in the system s Administrative Tool will give staff members access to the data sooner, and will provide greater flexibility of use. If an optional task is implemented, ColdFusion will be replaced by Department-approved COTS solution software, thus increasing security. Implementing a case-number system for the TRIO programs sizeable databases will ultimately eliminate or greatly reduce instances in which more than one record exists for a single TRIO participant, thus increasing efficiency; also, the case-number system should eventually allow TRIO to eliminate reliance on personally identifiable information (PII) in the databases, increasing security. Most of these returns should be realized within a year of implementation; increasing security via the case-number system may take up to two years after initial implementation.
