Investment Detail
Enterprise Content Management (ECM) is a steady-state investment without current development efforts that require a cost-benefit analysis. The maintenance costs are shared by all agencies utilizing the system. ECM provides access for all agencies to use a single system for managing correspondence flow as an asset. The accurate and timely management of incoming and outgoing correspondence is a critical element of good customer service and often ensures compliance with regulations and legislation. A main accomplishment has been the ECM Browser upgrade; ECM now works in Edge, Chrome, and Firefox. There are numerous components and modules used by various USDA offices and agencies to manage workflow, correspondence, and other business processes, many of which include personally identifiable information. ECM is designed and operated to support effective management of government documents. (Last update/review 08/25/2022)
