Accurate case tracking and reporting allows OCR to target proactive and remedial enforcement efforts, comply with regulatory time frames, manage case processing costs, comply with internal and external reporting requirements and enhance business processes based on actual performance as measured against performance metrics. Effective case tracking and reporting reduces financial and reputational risk to the Department in the form of sanctions for failure to meet regulatory requirements. Sanctions may include default judgments, attorneys fees and/or other relief.
