Investment Detail

Enterprise IT Management supports the acquisition, management, maintenance, and use of information resources to facilitate the achievement of the Forest Service strategic goals and objectives and to properly manage the agency's IT portfolio of major and non-major investments.

The Information Resources Management staff fully supports the Forest Service Investment Review Board (IRB) and Capability Planning Board (CPB). All IRB decision making relies on CPB recommendations for oversight and monitoring, funding the Forest Service's IT portfolio, which includes the entire CIO budget, and compliance with FITARA, GPRA, and OIG/GAO audit recommendations. Enterprise Architecture supports a business strategy to inform CPB investment reviews, the OCIO's Integrated IT Governance Framework's Decision Gate Reviews, and portfolio prioritization. Support is also provided to the Information Management Advisory Board and to ensure agency compliance with the Open Data Initiative (M-13-13) and the Digital Government Strategy to build a 21st Century platform.
