Date of Current ROI: 2017-03-09 This system has been in steady state for aver 10 years now. This system provides input, data and reporting efficiencies. In 2005 it moved from 56 stand alone databases to a centralized web-based system. This move also changed data entry from SCANTRON forms to direct web-based data entry. Data accessibility was changed from requests for canned reports to be printed and sent (via email or USPS) to immediate web access to data and reports. The system improves the capability to collect data which better represents the wildlife data management process. The system rollout provided computers to all WS field employees, with collateral improvements for the use of other automated systems such as email, AgLearn, GovTrip, etc. It improves the ability to respond nationally to data requests and FOIA requests.
A new effort is now underway to begin planning for the replacement of this system.
