Mail Labels and Media Support is a non-Major system/application sponsored by Wage and Investment. It consists of numerous independent batch applications grouped under four sub projects, Address Hygiene(AH), Mail Labels(ML), Shared Secrets(SS) and Microfilm Replacement System (MRS). The Address Hygiene project manages and administers the address cleansing software on Master File data (Individual Master File(IMF), Business Master File(BMF), and Employee Plans Master File (EPMF)). The ML subproject uses specific criteria to identify appropriate 1040ES(IMF) and 10401ES(BMF) and extracts those that meet the criteria. The sub project SS extracts taxpayer information for the SS database. The taxpayer data file is then sent to National Account Profile (NAP) to be used when taxpayers enter their Personal Identification Number PIN during the efile process. Microfilm Replacement System (MRS) is a set of daily runs that create transcripts based on MFTRA requests originating from service centers.
