Description
The NPIRS investment closes mission delivery gaps for IHS facilities and medical staff through reporting services provided by the NDW. The NPIRS investments provides an Enterprise Reporting and BI/BA environment for OIT, HQ and agency program offices that enables data discovery, data mining, predictive analysis and trending of key performance indicators in support of patient care and patient care management. The centralized NDW and BI environment provides the ability to produce reliable and timely reports and data sets to support IHS statutory, regulatory, and administrative obligations, including user populations counts, workload reporting, accreditation, and quality performance metrics. The quantifiable benefits include, but are not limited to: improved access to data by customers, reduction of efforts for performance and enterprise reporting, reduction of redundant rework, reduction of data system, hardware/software, and scalability of data domains.

Investment Detail

The NPIRS investment closes mission delivery gaps for IHS facilities and medical staff through reporting services provided by the National Data Warehouse (NDW). The centralized NDW and business intelligence environment provides the ability to produce reliable and timely reports and data sets to support IHS statutory, regulatory, and administrative obligations, including user population counts, workload reporting, accreditation, and performance measurements such as those required by the Government Performance and Results Act. The quantifiable benefits include, but are not limited to: 1) improved access to data by customers 2) reduction of efforts for performance and enterprise reporting 3) reduction of redundant rework 4) reduction of data system duplication 5) ability to decommission legacy systems, where applicable 6) reduction of cost for hardware and software 7) scalability of data domains, including additional clinical data, financial, environmental and engineering data. The ROI for the NPIRS investment is 33.6%.
