IBC - Budget Integration, Reporting and Costing Hub (BIRCH)

The Interior Business Center's (IBC) Enterprise Financial Management Office (EFMO) is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient use of IBC resources through sound enterprise financial management. The BIRCH (Budget Integrated Reporting and Costing Hub) software will permit IBC to automate processes, accumulate and analyze timely auditable cost information correlated with each Service, ensure accuracy and project outputs. The system will provide consistent, improved, and streamlined pricing and costing at both the Service and the Project level, improve data for quicker management decision-making, and reporting abilities to determine Service and Project what-if scenarios. This system and associated business processes replaces the in-house manual processes. IBC EFMO has implemented BIRCH to support budget formulation and costing and budget execution. The formulation module is currently live and execution module is pending (as of 5/2023).
