Investment Detail
The data center consolidation initiative (DCCI), to include the modernization and optimization of the IT infrastructure will improve compute performance, enhance the DOJ/FBI security posture, and reduce the service response times for the FBI IT customers.
In consolidation the DOJ/FBI facilities, networks, and establishing common platforms of operation (virtualization), the FBI can shrink its physical footprint thereby avoiding the current hardware costs incurred, and cut the labor expenses employed now for operation and maintenance of our IT backbone.
Facility consolidation allows DOJ/FBI to improve power-space-cooling efficiencies, which will significantly reduce out-year operating costs.
Specifically, consolidatiing DOJ/FBI TS environments will optimize a shared virtual environment, which can then be relocated as a smaller infrastructure. This will limit the number of SCIF accreditations and the costs associated.
