Enterprise Risk Management Services and Tools (ERMST)

Automated production of the Entity Risk Review reports, the Department s mechanism for complying with 2 C.F.R. risk assessment mandates, reduces by 95% the manpower costs associated with report preparation. These reports require specific technical KSAs to research and analyze state and local audit results, Dun & Bradstreet risk reports, including Business Information and Comprehensive Reports, and the Department's G5 system. This automation reduces to 15 minutes per DUNS-level entity what would manually require 12 hours for a skilled analyst at the GS-13 level to produce. POCs continue to develop their respective capacities for this specific analysis, but do not plan to replicate production of the automated reports provided by the Program Risk Management & Monitoring Team (RMS). Accordingly, in FY2016, automated production of nearly 300 ERRs comprised of more than 5,000 DUNS-level entities saved more than $2.7M in manpower costs for the investment cost of $480k (SS), generating an ROI of nearly $2.25M.

Additionally, by providing ERMST investment resources to IES, OESE, OSERS, OPE, OELA, and OFO data management and business application requirements, these offices avoided more than $1.5M in duplicated costs which they would have been incurred otherwise to satisfy their business needs.
