ConnectED is DOEDs Intranet site. It serves as the primary communication mechanism used by DOED to deliver critical information, agency news, resources and training to more than 3,500 staff. It is available to employees 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Investment Detail
The return on investment is the cost avoidance of providing Department staff with official news, information, policies and access to key Department systems, via email, printed form, and from multiple web locations. As the Department intranet site, connectED provides vetted and approved news, information, policies, training, system access and more, at the fingertips of employees via a centralized, searchable and trusted web portal. ConnectED also facilitates internal business transactions electronically, including mandatory training, performance reviews, reporting, time and attendance, and more. This in turn, enables ED staff to perform their duties more efficiently and effectively.
ConnectED also provides each Principal Office & Department Groups with fully functional, structured intranet sites, as well as the skills needed to maintain them, at no cost to the office, and at very little cost to the agency, due to the repeatable process and in-depth training that the connectED team has developed. To date, over 100 intranet sites have been provisioned in the connectED SharePoint site, and over 100 Webmasters and 350 Contributors across the Department are provided ongoing classroom instruction and deskside assistance for each upgrade, migration, and on-demand as required, in order to maintain their sites and intranet knowledge.
Without connectED, there would be a significant loss of communication to ED staff, as well as substantial degradation in productivity. At over 7.5 million page views per year, versus email, printed forms, and manual processes, as well as the need to obtain separate contracts and training for each POC intranet site, the connectED return on investment is significant, but difficult to estimate.
