Investment Detail
FY22-FY24 Enterprise Architecture Information Management will leverage EADSS to automate/expand EA information and service offerings, with the goal of providing the following qualitative and associated quantitative ROI benefits.
The architecture alignment analysis provides actionable data and metrics to CIO, ITEC and bureau executives through dashboard visualizations, will be extended to assess investments (CPIC), and to support IT governance on improving system security certification oversight. The benefits are more accurate, effective and timely IT decisions that improve IT investments and alignment, and reduce system security risks from uncertified or expired system security certifications. Performance target will be to deliver at least 10 architecture assessments on a quarterly basis.
Automate and expedite the EA Product Catalog article production with data and relationships from EADSS, so the IT capability article and the associated supporting Business Application articles and IT Product articles can be managed more effectively. The catalog serves as the Department's destination to help users understand what capabilities, applications and products are available, and how they can support their business needs. Performance will be to deliver on a quarterly basis, at least 12 sets of IT capability articles and associated Business Application and IT Product articles.
Automate the data normalization and enrichment of IT asset data (via network discovery) from EADSS to CMDB. The reconciliation improves the accuracy and currency of IT asset inventory, so actionable data may be derived, such as the identification and elimination / replacement of EOL IT HW and SW products to reduce security and technology risks. Performance target will be to inventory at least 50% of the Department's IT assets in the CMDB.
Conduct customer engagement for customer feedback to improve architecture services and products, and ensure we continue to provide effective and relevant services. Performance target will be to conduct customer surveys semi-annually, and achieve at least a customer rating of 3 out of 4 stars
Additional objectives planned based on customer priorities: streamline the enterprise IT Governance process; support IT modernization and cyber security priorities; application system inventory for FISMA boundary and traceability to underlying IT assets; CMDB and ITCCB integration; expand CMDB's network asset discovery to include all Bureaus and posts.
