In support of the DEA's overarching mission to enforce the mandates of the CSA, the Diversion Control Division's (DC) specific responsibilities are to prevent, detect, and investigate the diversion of pharmaceutical controlled substances and listed chemicals from legitimate channels while ensuring an adequate and uninterrupted supply of pharmaceutical controlled substances and listed chemicals to meet legitimate medical, commercial, and scientific needs. TQD supports the IT needs of the Diversion Control Division. TQD is responsible for maintaining and enhancing DC's hardware and software infrastructure. Through continual modernization of DC's information systems, TQD is responsible for improving the efficiency of regulatory control systems and providing enhanced automated enforcement tools for use by the Diversion Control Program. Additionally, TQD is responsible for information security as well as guidance and support of IT projects initiated by Diversion Control Division.
