The Correspondence Tracking System CTS is a system that tracks incoming and outgoing correspondence and other internal and external documents within the U.S. Department of Education. CTS is a web application accessed through a browser that includes a SharePoint integration for storage of files. CTS processes internal and external documents and correspondence. The kinds of external documents and correspondence that CTS processes include - letters from the White House, Congress, and the public - requests for status of complaints, stakeholder concerns about policy changes and invitations Internal documents tracked by CTS include - decision, information, policy, and hiring memoranda - personnel actions - Department enforcement actions and - Books or gifts sent to the Secretary.

Developing a fully automated system with real time dashboards is expected to increase staff efficiency by 25% and and decrease late taskings by 30%. New system will also reduce security risks, enable the Department to respond to constituent concerns quicker and eliminate time-consuming and error-prone manual data entry.
