Investment Detail
Cloud Services provides cross cutting enterprise products to meet Department requirements, eliminating system duplication for similar business needs. By minimizing platform footprints while enabling diverse tailored business applications, reduces infrastructure, security, and change management cost.
Currently, Cloud Services offers IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS licensing, which is available to Department customers. Existing disparate licensing models are being consolidated around these platforms, resulting in significant cost savings in licensing and operational costs. Costs to the bureaus are being reduced, and adoption times are decreasing. In addition, these Services offer:
-Performance metrics for each shared service, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure compliance
-An engagement strategy to assist customers in using enterprise services to further their mission objectives and mesh business processes with out-of-the-box functionalities with minimal customization, limiting it to 20 percent deviation from out-of-the-box
-Approved contract vehicles with FedRAMP authorized or other Agency Authority to Operate cloud vendors, based on user demand, that are available as a service to the Department
-Streamlined acquisitions policies, processes, and procedures that ensure the use of centralized enterprise license/contract agreements to eliminate the duplication of IT costs and decrease the number of complex IT acquisitions across the Department.
-Shared and/or common security controls across cloud applications, resulting in IT security cost savings.
