Description
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Air and Marine Operations (AMO) division has established the Argos Tactical Maritime Surveillance System (TMSS) as an operational program of record and initial system solution for regional deployments to augment to augment critical maritime security operations. It supports the Security America s Borders line of business. CBP has established a budget line item to provide the acquisition, integration, fielding and operations and maintenance (O&M) of three Argos systems to be deployed in high threat maritime environments where at-sea drug and human smuggling persists. These locations tentatively include: South Padre Island, Texas; San Clemente Island, California; and Cudjoe Key, Florida. Value to the public will be a dramatic decrease in drug and human smuggling in the maritime environment in U.S. Coastal waters as well as increased cooperation and support to other law enforcement organizations at the Federal, State, and Local levels.
