Description
COTHEN is an international communications network comprised of land-based, fixed stations and remote command and control systems, airborne and marine mobile systems, and other ancillary systems controlled by cellular-like switching technology. It benefits local, state, & federal law enforcement agencies as well as front line officers, DHS components, and other federal agencies. COTHEN is a primary means of long-range communications for many agencies and it s critical that network integrity be maintained. COTHEN supports DHS's Securing, Incident Management, Domain Awareness, and Law Enforcement Functional Portfolios and CBP s Securing America s Borders program. COTHEN supports public safety by providing a safe, secure, and reliable communication network for all law enforcement agencies and front-line officers, as well as other components of DHS. This Investment provides CBP the capability to obtain contractor support services and software for the COTHEN network.
