Investment Detail

TIMS supports Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) and Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) staff in providing estimates of undiscovered economically recoverable hydrocarbon resources and deriving estimated reservation prices for oil and gas tracts offered for lease on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS). TIMS also provides oil and natural gas data to Office of Natural Resources (ONRR) to collect (through the issuance and management of offshore mineral leases) approximately $1B per month in royalty fees. The resulting cost savings equate to strategic, technical, and regulatory gains.
