The OWDI investment (Investment 36) was initiated in 2017 and funds planning, development, operation, and maintenance costs for Reclamation's open data publishing systems. The investment is managed by the Research and Development office and currently supports one system, the Reclamation Information Sharing Environment (RISE). RISE is a system for publishing Reclamation's mission-related data in open formats for access by internal and external users. It reduces the time staff spend to respond to data requests and allows users to easily find data from across Reclamation without having to navigate to multiple webpages. The RISE system consists of a data catalog, time series query interface, map interface, public API, other public website components, an internal data and content administration interface, and underlying databases and APIs. RISE leverages ArcGIS Online for the map interface and for storage of geospatial datasets.
