Description
The investment was initiated as a proof of concept (POC) in June 2020. It is directly manage by Geospatial Services Division under BOEM HQ - Office of Strategic Resources. Ocean Data Geospatial Infrastructure Project (ODGIP) Phase I, rebranded as BOEM GeoSEAS in Phase II, focuses on implementing new bureau-wide geographic information system technologies, infrastructure, and storage, and leveraging existing DOI-BPA Cloud Services Contracts and commercially available off the shelf ESRI-GIS software, and is aligned with the BOEM Geospatial Services Strategic Plan (GSSP). The project is a mixed (planning/prototype assessment) life cycle phase.
