Geological Interpretive Tools (GIT) is an ongoing project to provide BOEM geoscientists and engineers technologically advanced software applications, hardware, and network configurations to aid in the assessment and evaluation of oil and gas resources and reserves being explored and developed on the OCS of the Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, Pacific, and Alaska continental margins. The GIT initiative was first implemented by BOEM in December, 1993, and has been operating continuously since that time. GIT is essential for the successful completion of mission critical business processes.
