Description
The Alaska Land Information System (ALIS) primary purpose is to support BLM Alaska's activities for land title transfer from federal ownership to the State of Alaska, Native Corporations, Native Allottees, and other entitlees based on the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA), the Alaska Statehood Act, the Native Allotment Act, Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act (ANILCA), and other executive and congressional mandates. ALIS was initiated in 2003 and is sponsored by the BLM Alaska State Director.
