The Self-Governance Database (SGDB) is a web-based, real time financial management and reporting database whose purpose is to support the management and maintenance of tribal self-governance compact funding data. SGDB is the financial tracking and reporting system for funds allocated by Congress to self-governance tribes which are negotiated and awarded via compacts and funding agreements (FAs). SGDB includes a module by which final negotiated FA amounts are certified. SGDB reports the status of funds negotiated under the FAs throughout the FA period. The financial data is included in the Secretary s annual report to Congress as required by statute. SGDB fund award documents provide greater program detail about the input into the BIA s financial payment system, the FBMS. SGDB currently serves 130 self-governance compacts representing over 283 tribes exceeding $500 million annually. More than 140 users across the country access the SGDB.
