Basing and Logistics Analytics Data Environment (BLADE) is A4?s method to meet the overall DoD Data Strategy to provide visible, accessible, understood, linked, trusted, interoperable and secure data (VAULTIS) and to provide automated, machine-to-machine data federation from A4 to the Chief Data Officer (CDO) data environment. BLADE provides overall assessment and analyses of assets (munitions, aircraft, engines, vehicles, fuels) that depict the capability to execute specific OPLANs and risks to OPLANs based on the status of assets. It provides an assessment of capacity for Aerial Port / Squadron Point of Departures (A/S PODs), fuels, medical, mortuary affairs and facilities that illustrates the capability to support specific activities and OPLANs. It provides In-Transit Visibility (ITV) of planned and executed transportation movements of resources by air, land and sea to assess force flow, in-route and resupply activities. BLADE provides an assessment of contracting and international support agreements (assets, capacity, level of support, expiration dates) to ensure the visibility. It provides an exercise mechanism to evaluate mission planning and strategic development principles. It enables near-real time metrics to be utilized by commanders, providing a common operating picture, to make command and control (C2) decisions to be executed via existing C2 structures.
