Government Description
Continuous dredging capability is provided for the maintenance of the Mississippi river. The work involves operating a fully crewed and equipped self-propelled dustpan hydraulic pipeline dredge and attendant plant, including fuel, supply, and landing barges, survey boat, tenders, and floating pontoon pipeline, to remove and dispose of shoal material. Dredging activities are conducted in primary regions between mile 320 ahp (black hawk, LA) and mile 103 ahp (new orleans, LA), and secondary regions between mile 953.8 ahp (CAIRO, IL) and mile 320 ahp. These regions have historically required annual dredging to maintain navigability.
